One Thimble 22 Tour Wrap Up

It’s time to wrap up another One Thimble blog tour! Issue 22 is really on trend, you’re going to love all the patterns included and the makers interpretations. I’m so blessed to have the support of so many awesome bloggers in this project each quarter. fullsizeoutput_dd9c I was finally able to squeeze in some pictures of my makes so far from Issue 22! As you read in my previous post, I wrote a hack for inseam pockets in the Jolie skirt (originally from One Thimble Issue 10). This is the version I used to test my pattern & photograph the steps. fullsizeoutput_dd9eLook at that! It has pockets! Where would she have put those hands before now? fullsizeoutput_dda2 How great is it in a simple tencel denim? My girls are loving more classic colours at the moment. This is the same fabric we used for a Camden dress from last issue! fullsizeoutput_dda4 Isn’t that sweet? Are you a fan of the contrast pockets or do you prefer something a little more subtle? I love the peekaboo pockets! fullsizeoutput_dda8 Next up are the Oceaan Shorts by The Eli Monster. Aren’t they adorable? I found the instructions a little tricky on this pattern, but they weren’t too difficult to sew. I used this cute printed drill I’d had in my stash for quite a while. I wouldn’t get away with too much pink in my girls wardrobes, but this definitely gets the tick of approval. fullsizeoutput_ddb0 I teamed both the skirt and shorts with the new Xanadu bodysuit also from Issue 22. I really love how the patterns from this issue all go together so well. I plan on making a Piper Pinny (by Bubby & Me Creations) and that will be 3 outfits with the one top. fullsizeoutput_dde2 I made the crop version of the Xanadu from a heavy knit shirt of my own that was too small.  I love to upcycle, it’s like free fabric! I made my crop band a little wider than the pattern, just to give it more visual balance. I also managed to cut it so the stripes continued and the band is almost invisible. fullsizeoutput_ddb5 I would have loved some navy buttons to finish the shorts, but I only had 4 of those of course, so pink it was! All my buttons come from thrift stores, I really can’t justify the price of them otherwise! I buy ALL the buttons when I see them and I sew from my stash whenever possible! It’s too far to drive to a fabric store just for buttons. fullsizeoutput_ddd9 I love the scoop back of the Xanadu. It’s a great feature. I have to say these shorts fit like a glove too. If your customer is in between sizes, I would definitely size up and add elastic to the back waistband. fullsizeoutput_dda9

Now you’ve seen enough of this cheeky grin, let’s go and catch up on the week that was on the One Thimble Issue 22 Blog Tour! Let me show you how amazing our bloggers are and be sure to catch their blog posts for all the details!

One Thimble 21 Tour Wrap Up

We made it! Who knew you could put together an amazing blog tour in less than a week! When we heard One Thimble was back, we had to try! It’s clearly a testament to the love we have for the OT E-zine that we would drop everything to make it happen in such a short amount of time.

I hoped to squeeze in a couple more makes this week from Issue 21, but other commitments got in the way. I did manage to run up the Thread Faction #131 Dropt Crotch Track pants and cut out an Ainslee Fox Archie Shirt, so you will have to wait for that one!

I’ve teamed the Thread Faction #131 Drop Crotch Track pants with a free sweater pattern from the Emma & Mona blog, the Emma Trui. I’d been wanting to try it for a while. It is cute, but doesn’t come with hem band, cuffs & neck band, so you need to calculate those yourself. The cute scandi dogs fabric is a pre-order from Utopian Threads Fabrics Australia, (teamed with a striped ponte, black ribbing and black sports tracksuit material from Spotlight).

I sized up, because we have hit spring and it was so hot this week – yay! I want these babies to last as long as possible and my girl absolutely loves them.

We had some amazing bloggers join in to share their makes this week. I cannot thank them all enough for saying yes and knocking their makes out of the park on such short notice! Let me show you how amazing they are and be sure to catch their blog posts for all the details!
